R.W. Boutcher is currently the Faculty Manager in Kaplan's Denver Center, and the reigning National Teacher of the Year. He earned that recognition pushing hundreds of students to their potential in the Kaplan Classroom. Firmly dedicated to the Socratic Method of case study found in law school, he starts students' law school training well before matriculation.
Mr. Boutcher traveled from his hometown of Chicago to Philadelphia to attend Temple University's school of law. He then traveled to Denver to practice law as a criminal defense attorney. As a teacher, he's described as "the guy with the voice" and "the guy with the suit." More importantly, he carries with him a reputation of retraining reading skills and changing the way students understand arguments. He has a great respect for the profession of lawyering and wants this experience to prove that any student with dedication can indeed be successful in the law school classroom and as an attorney.
