As we passed my essay back and forth via email, Carleen's questions helped get at what I really wanted to communicate about myself. Overall, she was very supportive and positive. In about three weeks, I had completed my final draft and felt great optimism about getting an interview. I was thrilled that my essay was condensed to the right length and it passionately told my story in my own voice. I could not have been more pleased with Carleen's advice and skill.
I want you to know how talented Heather is at Admissions Consulting. She was always professional, supportive and candid during our phone conferences. I particularly found Heather helpful as I was marketing myself to the admissions committees. She is extremely gifted in tweaking personal statements, and I benefited greatly from our mock-interview preparation. Heather helped me put my best foot forward, and I am not surprised that she was awarded Consultant of the Year. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of this Kaplan service, and I hope that you can help many other students reach their admissions goals.
Heather was ALWAYS very available via email or phone to
discuss my essays, interviews and even to allay my fears
and self-doubt when my confidence began to falter. I am so
pleased about my admission into one of my top choice
medical schools, Case Western Reserve!
I have been told by several schools that I had a great
essay, so I thank you for all your help from the bottom of
my heart! Slowly, it transformed into a cohesive essay with
a purpose. Without your guidance and persistence, it would
have stayed unconstructive.
Today I heard from UNC and they are willing to take a
chance on me! This school was my top choice, so I am
really, really happy! I would like to thank you for all of
the time that you spent working with me and believing in
me. I never expected to get into my top two choices!
Yama, I just wanted to update you and let you know that I
got into my 1st and 2nd choice in schools. Thanks for all
your guidance!
I have been accepted to three medical schools so far! SUNY
Downstate, George Washington University, and Drexel. Thanks
again for all of your help in the process. Your advice to
take the April MCAT was right on! Hopefully I can provide
some inspiration for your other "non-traditional" students.
Thanks again for all your help! It definitely made a huge
difference this year, going from no interviews to seven and
four offers of med school admission!
As Tom has dealt with the admissions process [...] with
many of the schools to which I am applying, he intimately
knows the details of how each school not only chooses their
the criteria for their interviews, but, he also knows what
to add to distinguish yourself from the rest of the crowd.
Carleen, I hope that all is well with you! I was accepted
to Drexel, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and St.
Georges in Grenada. I decided to accept Drexel to be as
close to my husband as possible. I'm still praying that I
can get off the waitlist at Mt. Sinai or the hold list at
Downstate. I was on many other waitlists which I decided to
withdraw from once I had made my decision. Anyway, Drexel
looks like a good bet for me and I am totally excited about
starting medical school in a month!
I want to thank you for all the help you've given me in this crazy admissions process. I really appreciated your time and thoughts on applying. I have good news... I have received offers of admission so far from Stony Brook and SUNY Downstate and am still waiting to hear from many schools. But, just today I received an offer from Mount Sinai! This was eally my top choice (and I know it was your school) so I'm ecstatic! Thanks again for everything!
