course materials right away and we'll be able to ship books out
to you immediately.
Answers to frequently asked questions
- US citizens or permanent
residents that have an established credit history are
eligible for this program.
- Students can borrow up to
100% of the tuition cost (a $1,000 minimum), plus an
additional 60% of tuition cost for any additional expenses.
Payments for additional expenses are sent directly to the
student.
- Kaplan students are required
to pay a standard deposit of $500. This requirement applies
to all loan applicants as well. There is a $1,000 deposit for
Kaplan Medical Institute (KMI) and retreat programs.
- Rates are assigned by Sallie
Mae according to the credit worthiness and debt-to-loan ratio
of the applicant.
- Repayment terms of up to 15
years are available with no prepayment penalty.
- Add a co-borrower if you are
unemployed, have limited or poor credit history, or if you
have filed for bankruptcy. If you make your first 24 payments
on time you may apply to have the co-borrower released form
the loan completely.
- SLM Loan applications are now taken exclusively online.

The completed loan application must be submitted no less
than 4 weeks prior to the start date of the Kaplan course. If
