Howard University's College of Dentistry is one of the oldest in the nation. Howard has a rich history of providing top-notch academic programs to the minority community. The school's dental program is delivered through a well-funded complex of classrooms, labs, and clinics. In addition, students are trained and gain valuable clinical experience at the university's hospital.

Howard's dental students can take advantage of the full array of academic and social activities provided by the university at-large. In addition, the school's location in downtown Washington, DC provides endless opportunities for research, work experience, and recreation.

Admissions Requirements:
In general, applicants must have completed a baccalaureate program at a 4-year institution. Specific academic requirements include:

  General Biology or Zoology - 8 Semester Units
  General Chemistry with lab - 8 Semester Units
  Organic Chemistry with lab - 8 Semester Units
  English Composition - 6 Semester Units

In addition, the school recommends that that prospective applicants take course work in biochemistry, anatomy, molecular biology, histology, physiology, and microbiology.

Applications must be received by March 1 of the year you plan to enter dental school. Application requirements include a DAT score, letters or recommendation, interviews, and a strong GPA.
