On difficult antonym questions, it might seems as if you don't know anything about the stem word. However, you only need a little information to guess at a word's meaning. If you don't know what a word means, you might be able to guess its meaning based on your knowledge of one or more of the word's parts. Don't let the initial word scare you into guessing wrong.
Consider this example: If the word benediction is unfamiliar to you, you might want to isolate a root, stem, or suffix. In this case, the prefix, bene means good. This indicates that its opposite is likely to be something bad. Perhaps the answer will begin with mal, as in malefaction.
